Knockout Kings was primarily a kickboxing event featuring Milwaukee’s Duke Roufus taking on Lawson “Meet Your Maker” Baker of World Combat League fame. The card did feature two MMA matchups in Anthony “Showtime” Pettis vs. Mike Lambrecht at 155lbs, as well as “Savage” Dan LaSavage taking on Stanton “The Viper” Gavia at 135lbs. In addition, Kyle “Wicked” Wieckhardt fought Tim “Arch Angel” Nixon for the Gladiators Kickboxing Middleweight Championship. Not all bouts will be broadcast and those shown are at the discretion of MCM 14 according to the e-mail.
It is unknown if Gladiators will broadcast more shows in the future or break open the vault and show older Gladiator matches as previews to upcoming events. Either way it’s a win-win situation for the fighters and the fans. The shows will give more attention and visibility to local fighters and the fans get free fights on local television.
